No Shows in November or December... Gospel Central will be back in 2019
Denise Bryan...Words cannot express the sorrow we feel at the loss of our beloved beautiful sister Denise Bryan. A founder-member of Gospel Central and a shining light in every room she entered.
With the voice of an angel, and a heart of gold, her inimitable presence will certainly be missed but never forgotten. Sleep in heavenly peace darling Dee.
DEAN'S FAREWELL MESSAGE...
Gospel music has something more than just technical ability and great grooves, it has an energy and spark that I know no other genre to have. It has been my privilege to help demonstrate those same qualities over the last five years with Gospel Central. I've made some incredible friends, enjoyed sharing the stage with some outstanding musicians and singers and had the most fun hosting, singing and producing our shows. Credit must go to founder, Colin Peters whose vision has become a reality. I can't wait to see Gospel Central continue to push on bringing you the best night out every month in Birmingham!
GXMMA UK AWARD WINNERS...
2016 saw Gospel Central pick up their first awards, 'Event of the Year' and a special award was presented to Beresford Dawkins for his contribution to the gospel music scene.
Beresford works endlessly in the background for Gospel Central, keeping the wheels turning and the connections happening. Under his guidance Gospel Central has gone from strength to strength.
Beresford Dawkins was born in Birmingham England in 1960.
Growing up in the Lozells Handsworth and Aston districts presented many challenges, but his parents Eustace and Iciline Dawkins who travelled to England from Jamaica in 1955 encouraged him to commit his life to faith in God. Beresford soon found refuge at his local Pentecostal Church in Erdington and Nechells (Church of God of Prophecy) where he developed a passion and love for music.
He began playing the guitar at the age of 12 and after years of hard work became an accomplished musician and music director in his local church.
In 1992 Beresford and associates founded ‘The Well’ which was a live monthly gospel event which included music production, promotion, and marketing, artist development and artist management.
After 24 years in gospel music promotions Beresford’s vision is to develop an infrastructure that will see Birmingham become the Capital of Gospel music for the UK.
Beresford gives credit, to his parents’ generation who have laid the foundation and legacy for us to build on this rich heritage, gifted to Birmingham.
Now partnering with Colin Peters and the Gospel Central family Beresford is seen here accepting an award from GXMMA UK for his contribution and services to Gospel Music over 24 years.
